PRESS RELEASE – Round 1 of the GMXC Monster Energy Guam Motocross Club Series kicked off on March 30th at the newly natural terrain constructed track in Yona, Guam. The event brought together riders from all across the island to showcase their incredible skills, unwavering courage, and deep passion for dirt biking. Spectators of all ages were treated to an adrenaline-pumping experience that highlighted the talent and determination of the riders, with thrilling moments that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats throughout the day.
The new track itself was meticulously crafted by GMXC event officials, all of whom dedicated months of hard work to create the perfect environment for motocross lovers. Their efforts paid off, as the natural terrain course proved to be the ideal setting for a high-energy race that provided a safe location, both for children and adults to push the riders to their physical and mental limits.
The race featured multiple categories for both kids and adults, ensuring that riders of all levels could participate and showcase their talents. The event included classes such as the kids’ 2-wheel, schoolboy and novice divisions, as well as expert open classes for the more seasoned competitors. The variety of categories allowed for an inclusive atmosphere, where both young and experienced riders could compete
alongside one another, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie. From the thrilling rev of engines to the loud roar of excited fans cheering on their favorite riders, the event was brimming with intensity and energy from start to finish.
One of the highlights of the event was Heat 1 of the Vet ATV class, where competition reached a fever pitch between Robert Bucek and Jonathan Aguon. The two riders tore around the track in a flurry of dust, power, and adrenaline, each determined to come out on top. As the race neared its conclusion, Bucek managed to edge out Aguon, crossing the finish line just ahead of him to claim first place.
Aguon, however, wasn’t far behind and pushed hard to secure second place. John Gilman rounded out the top three with a strong third-place finish, marking a competitive and exciting race for all involved.
In the Open Class, the competition was just as fierce. Heat 1 saw 10 talented riders battling it out for supremacy on the track. Among them was JR Cepeda, riding with incredible precision and control, expertly navigating the course to claim first place.
Tim Wenden followed closely behind, securing second place, while Richard Wenden held on to third. The skill level displayed by all the riders was nothing short of impressive, and each of them pushed themselves to the limits to secure a top spot.
However, the intensity didn’t stop there. In Heat 2 of the Open Class, the rivalry between Blaze Aiken and Richard Wenden and took center stage. The two riders went head-to-head, each determined to outride the other. Aiken’s relentless determination saw him battle his way into second place, just behind Cepeda, who once again dominated the race, securing another well-earned first-place finish.
Wenden came in third, marking another strong finish in what had been an exhilarating round of competition.
The excitement of Round 1 of the Monster Energy Guam Motocross Club Series left spectators eagerly anticipating the next race, as riders proved once again their ability to rise to the challenge and leave it all on the track. The event highlighted the incredible community spirit and the ever-growing passion for motocross in Guam, and the island’s motocross scene is sure to continue to thrive in the coming months.

Round 2 of the GMXC Guam Monster Energy Motocross Championships will be April 27 at the Yona Motorcross Track. This will be the second race of a series of point-based races that will continue into the summer.
