Both teams went through four rounds of playoffs before the championship match. On the way to the finals, DeVera/Eugenia upset the top-seeded team of Ariana Cruz and Alessandra Leon Guerrero, also of Academy, in the quarterfinals.

In the finals, DeVera was an offensive force at the net, finishing with 11 kills, while Eugenia’s serves were troublesome for the opposing Cougars as she served up eight aces. The sophomore duo on the other side made it a closer match in the second set, but wasn’t close enough.

Landen DeVera (11th)
-11 kills
Carmen Eugenia (10th)
-5 kills, 8 aces
Lea Aromin (10th)
-3 kills, 2 aces
Jaedyn Punongbayan (10th)
-1 kill, 3 aces

Academy has now won back-to-back volleyball titles both indoors and on the beach.
