TRITONS COME OUT ON TOP OF MEN’S VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE

UOG finishes undefeated

PRESS RELEASE – The championship of Triton Men’s Volleyball League had everything, from hard spikes and sparkling defensive plays to fire alarms going off in the middle of the match but the UOG Tritons came out on top over U-Fly in a 3-1 match in the UOG Calvo Field House, where the biggest advantage for the score in a set was 25-22, and all other sets were 25-23.

The Bombers beat Umitde 3-0 on the 3rd Place match, winning the contest 25-19, 25-19 and 25-16 over a tired looking Umitde team.

The Bombers finished the season at 5-3 and Umitde had a 2-6 campaign.

In the Championship Match, most of the sets followed the same pattern, with the Tritons going out to a 3-4 point lead late in the set, then holding off a furious comeback by U-Fly. The Tritons won both of the first 2 sets, 25-23 and 25-23 to mount a 2-0 lead in the match. U-Fly would come back in third set to win, 25-22 to make it 2-1 match but the Tritons came back again to win the 4th set 25-23 and the match 3-1.

The UOG Tritons finished the season with a perfect 7-0 record and went 21-2 in sets for the season with U-Fly being the only team to win a set off the Tritons. U-Fly finished the season at 5-2, with both losses coming from the Tritons.
