The Father Duenas Friars improve to 3-0 after handing the Okkodo Bulldogs their first loss 19-0 Wednesday night at the Guam High Field.
Early into the first half, FD’s defense smothered the Bulldogs allowing the Friars to control the tempo on the pitch.
Quick passes combined with Alex Sojo’s speed to the house provided FD’s first try. Sojo also made the conversion to put the Friars up 7-0.
Both teams were battling to keep possession with short rushes and huge tackles that made the crowd fall into “Oohs”.
Minutes before the horn sounded, the Friars were able to score a second try by Tristen Burgos.
With a second made conversion, the first half closed out with the Friars being up 14-0.
Being the powerhouse of the league, the Friars remained consistent offensively and defensively in the second half.
Burgos trucked through the Bulldogs defense to score the third try for FD midway into the half.
The Bulldogs experienced more trouble finding gaps and getting close to their try line as FD’s defense kept them on the opposite side of the field.
The final horn blared notifying the referees to whistle as the game came to an end leaving the Bulldogs with nothing on the board dropping to 2-1 at the hands of the Friars.
