PRESS RELEASE – Guam Softball Academy (GSB) hosted the Friday night Athletic Seminar at the Nikko Hotel Guam featuring esteemed guest speakers Jessica Ball from Great Waves Performance and Tisha Mahon Novello from Empowered is She. The seminar saw 50-student athletes and parents gaining valuable information of college sports life.

“A very informative athletic seminar aimed at guiding middle and high school student athletes towards success in college level sports. Guam Softball Academy is thrilled to host this seminar in collaboration with Guam Behavioral Health & Wellness Center. Jessica and Tisha two experts in the field of college bound and athletic performance and empowerment;” said Bill Bennett Guam Softball Academy Saturday and Sunday saw college style on-field training lead by Jessica and Trisha guiding 53-high school and middle school softball athletes through two-days of very intense and fun softball activities.

Each day saw new ways to train and learn fast pitch softball with fun team competition drills and stunts. Defensive skills, throw & catch, hitting, bunting, infield & outfield dailies, and game play. Each set of skills included fun team competitions and fun games to keep the girls motivated and engaged. Fun games included: blast ball, tic tac toe, minute to win it, target bunting, throwing relays, and front toss scrimmages. The most popular drill at the clinic was the Dive Drill – catch a softball before it hits the ground.

“The two-day clinic was a big hit receiving much positive feedback from the girls and parents. Lunch was provided each day and cold beverages all day long. Having 10-adult coach/instructor volunteers on the field added to the success of the clinic. Included in the daily training plan were Mental Sessions: Playing in the Moment (learn burn & return), Controlling the Controllable, Mental Mastery – Visualization. Next years softball clinic will be longer and just as exciting;” says Katie Flint from Guam Softball Academy.
