FRIARS HOLD OFF GECKOS ON THE DIAMOND

Teams combine for 15 errors in mistake-filled game

It wasn’t pretty, but it was enough to stay undefeated.

The FD Friars remain unbeaten after taking down the GW Geckos 11-5 in the ISA Baseball League Tuesday afternoon at GW as both teams combined for 15 errors.

FD will take on the Tiyan Titans (also undefeated) on Thursday to see who will get the top-seed of the four-team playoffs next week. The Geckos already clinched the 4th seed over the weekend and the ND Royals are locked in at #3.

GW actually took a 3-1 lead after the first inning, thanks to a Dreyvin Gumataotao’s RBI double.

Trailing 4-2 after two innings, the Friars took advantage of numerous GW walks and errors to three runs each in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings to break open the game.

Ayden Aguon went 2-for-2 (2 singles) and got on base twice on errors for the Friars. Pitcher Kaiden Weakley pitched three innings for FD with Saez Alvarez coming in for the final two frames.

Aiden Quichocho had a single and double for the GW offense.
