Two softball experts to share knowledge on Guam

PRESS RELEASE – Guam Softball Academy is excited to announce a free informative athletic seminar aimed at guiding middle and high school student athletes towards success in college level play. The seminar will be held on September 6, 2024, at Hotel Nikko from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. 

Featuring esteemed guest speakers Jessica Ball from Great Waves Performance and Tisha Novello with Empowered is She, this seminar promises valuable insights and strategies for aspiring athletes, parents, and coaches alike. 

Attendees can expect to learn: 

Essential skills and techniques to excel in collegiate athletics. 

Tips for navigating the college recruitment process and maximizing opportunities for scholarships. Strategies for maintaining academic excellence while pursuing athletic goals. Insights into the mental and physical preparation required for collegiate-level competition. Resources and support systems available to student athletes as they transition to college life.

FREE SOFTBALL CLINIC

Guam Softball Academy is delighted to announce a free softball clinic scheduled for September 7th and 8th, from 9:30am to 4:30pm at Okkodo High School. This two-day event promises an immersive learning experience for aspiring softball players of all skill levels. 

The clinic will feature distinguished guest coaches Tisha Novello from Empowered is She and Jessica Ball from Great Waves Performance. Their expertise and passion for the sport will provide attendees with invaluable insights and guidance to elevate their game. 

Participants will have the opportunity to refine their skills in various aspects of softball, including batting, pitching, fielding, base running, and game strategy. The clinic curriculum is designed to cater to the needs of players at different proficiency levels, ensuring that each attendee receives personalized attention and coaching. 

In addition to the comprehensive training sessions, lunch will be provided on both days to fuel participants for optimal performance on the field. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own equipment, sunscreen, and a positive attitude ready to work hard and learn.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
