EXPO GATHERS GUAM’S FITNESS COMMUNITY

Island’s fitness industry unites

The 2024 Guam FitExpo brought together the island’s fitness industry all day Saturday at the UOG Calvo Field House with over 30 vendors and a slew of events and activities.

The Expo certainly lived up to its theme: Uniting Guam’s Health & Fitness Lifestyle Enthusiasts.

The fun-filled day kicked off with a 5K run/walks at 6 am before the field house opened its doors at 8 am with vendors presenting fitness gear, health products and health services. A dojo demonstration, a cycling class, powerlifting competition, Meet-N-Greet with Olympians and eventually a natural bodybuilding competition all took place in the festive schedule.

Here are the results of the bodybuilding competition.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
