ROYALS, FRIARS TO SWING FOR THE TITLE

Notre Dame and Father Duenas this Saturday for the championship

The top-ranked Notre Dame Royals and the third-ranked FD Friars will hit the diamond Saturday afternoon for the 2023 ISA Baseball League championship.

The Royals controlled the GW Geckos 9-3 at the Paseo Stadium while the Friars pulled off a mild upset over the 2nd-ranked Tiyan Titans 9-5 at the GW Field as both semifinals were going on at the same time Wednesday afternoon.

The Royals beat the Friars 10-1 early in the season on December 2. The Friars are two-time defending champions.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
