One Thursday night football game is already off the books as Angel Calugay, head coach of the Okkodo Bulldogs announced that his team won’t be ready to take on the FD Friars in the ISA Football League.

Calugay confirmed the announcement, stating via text that Okkodo’s attendance at practice this week has been at 18 players and that injuries to three key players have affected their preparation. Calugay also mentioned Holy Week obligations for the players and that majority of the team are freshmen or new players.

Obviously, this comes as a disappointment to the FD Friars, who were in the middle of game-planning, but will instead extend their record winning streak to 59 games the easy way.

Week 2 of the season had a unique twist with games on Thursday and next Monday nights because of the Easter weekend.

This season has been full of twists, to say the least. It was first pushed to the 4th Quarter of the sports calendar due to the late arrival of equipment for the GDOE schools. Week 1 was then pushed back another week because of the wrong order of knee pads.
