UOG LEAGUES RETURN TO FIELD HOUSE

men’s & women’s leagues back on the courts

Live basketball in the Calvo Field House is back with the launch this week of the Triton Men’s Basketball League and the Lady Tritons Super League under the Triton Athletics program. Sports fans can catch live games at 6:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday nights on the University of Guam campus until April 22.  

“We’re glad to be hosting basketball games at the UOG Calvo Field House for the first time since the pandemic,” said UOG Athletics Director Doug Palmer. “Our basketball teams have been playing in community tournaments since January, but our players are excited to return to their home court and to have fans in the bleachers.” 

Triton Men’s Basketball League 

The Triton Men’s Basketball League features six teams competing in a 10-game regular season.  

The league games take place at 6:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday nights, with the playoffs scheduled for Monday, April 18, and the championship game on Friday, April 22.

The season kicked off last night with the KFC Bombers taking a win over Team OG with a final score of 105-77, followed by MVP Stars beating out MBI Four-Stars with a score of 116-79.  

Tomorrow night’s matchups include Tritons v. Team Wu Tang followed by Team OG vs. MBI Four-Stars. 

Lady Triton Super League  

The Lady Tritons Super League kicks off tonight with the Lady Tritons vs. BallHers at 6:30 p.m. and the Lady Bombers vs. Fuetsa at 8:15 p.m.  

The women’s league features five teams playing in an eight-game regular season.  

The games will be held at 6:30 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with the playoffs scheduled for Thursday, April 14, and the championship game on Thursday, April 21.

Attend a live game
Community members are invited to the Calvo Field House to watch the games, with a limit of 120 spectators per game. Proof of vaccination is required upon entry, and COVID safety protocols will be in place. Entry fees are $3 for adults, $2 for non-UOG students, and no charge for UOG students.  

All UOG games are recorded and posted on the Triton Athletics YouTube channel. Fans can also tune into the Triton Sports Zone video podcast to stay up to date with the latest athletics news, watch exclusive athlete interviews, and learn about upcoming events and games. The podcast episodes are live at 6 p.m. every Thursday on the Triton Athletics Facebook channel.
