RUN BACK TO NORMAL EVENT APRIL 9TH

First non-viral event in over two years.

By Jay Leon Guerrero

Get ready, Guam. Your first non-virtual road race is coming soon. It’s been over two years since the island has seen a live road race and thanks to the efforts of the Guam Running Club (GRC), April 9th will be the day when Guam runners can take the roads once again.

The “Run Back to Normal” 2K/5K will kick off at the Chamorro Village in Hagatna. According to GRC’s Manny Hechanova, this event is a FREE no-frills event. According to the GRC website, no frills means no t-shirt, no category results.

“This event is just a simple fun run to regroup as a running community.”

After the government lifted the outdoor restrictions, sporting events can now operate. After the Run Back to Normal event, there will be other events that will be scheduled on the GRC calendar.

“There are several 5K’s already being scheduled. Interested participants can visit our Facebook page for more info,” said Hechanova.

Charity and non-profit groups will be present for information and donations. A raffle prize drawing will be available for all participants. Raffle prize winners must be present to win and the GRC is gladly accepting donations for prizes. Contact any GRC member via the Facebook page or Hechanova directly to donate.

Kick off time for the “Run Back to Normal” event will be at 6am on April 9th, suggested showtime is at 5am. Registration will also be on Raceday, but participants are encouraged to register for free online. Here is the registration link:

Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
