The Guam National Tennis Federation made a big announcement today with the return of professional tennis set for our island.
GNTF President Torgun Smith said that the International Tennis Federation’s World Tennis Tour will make its way to Guam for four weeks of international play of juniors and pros.
“It’s the first pro circuit even in the Asian region since Covid,” Smith said.
PROS
The professional men will play May 29-June 5 and June 5-12 with prize money of $25,000. Smith expects pro players world-ranked as high as in the #250 range to play in the tourney.
JUNIORS
Juniors Grade 4 competition for both boys and girls will take place the two weeks prior to the pros taking the court: May 15-22 and May 23-29.
Matches are to be played at the GNTF courts in Harmon.
“This is a massive project for us to pull off four weeks in a row of international events.”
