“This is an event for anyone that plays in the dirt,” said event organizer John Burch, Jr. “We have all types of vehicles participating: dirt bikes, quads, minis/Pajeroo’s, Jeeps, trucks, SUVs, sxs, rock bouncers and more. We even have an RC corner.”

Already with more than 60 entries with more expected as the registration deadline nears, Burch said getting the off-road community’s input was key in developing the event.

“During the development phase we made it a point to meet with as many local off-road groups as possible and ask them what they would want to see in a course,” Burch said. “We tried to make a course that every level of off-roader can do and we tried to accommodate for every type of off-road vehicle. This process was one of the best parts of this whole event. We got a chance to meet so many people and we actually got great ideas from many of them.”

We wanted to create an event that was driverdriven and spectator-driven. I believe that the drivers and participants put on the show and the spectators make the event. Without either any event wouldn’t be successful.

There will also be a spectator raffle for $5 a ticket with prizes over $1000 worth.

The event is open and free to the public to watch and experience. Some of the island’s finest food trucks will be on hand.

Participant prizes include:
9000lb winch
4000lb winch for sxs
$2500 tube work from twisted metal
$700 gas
$2000 cash for bouncer class

Spectator raffle:
$300 cash
$1000 worth of miscellaneous off-road tools/ parts from Home Depot and Napa

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
