The first ever 1-Star FIVB Beach Volleyball has taken over Jimmy Dee’s beach for the Guam Beach Cup 2020 as competitors from Guam, Japan, Finland, the USA, Canada and Sweden took the courts. Friday featured the Main Draw of competition, which included the four Guam teams who placed highest in last months Pairs Tournament.
No team from Guam was unable to collect a win Friday which eliminated them from further contention in the tournament.
Tournament action continues Saturday with the finals set to play on Sunday.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
