KIANI RAMSEY TO CONDUCT SOFTBALL CLINIC ON SUNDAY

Kiani Aquiningoc Ramsey will be on island this weekend and will host a free girls softball clinic.

Ramsey is a senior centerfielder for the North Carolina Tar Heels and will be on Guam for the 50th anniversary of her grandparents.

She played her first two collegiate years at Texas Tech before transferring to North Carolina.

This past season, Kiani batted .364 as the Tar Heels went to the NCAA Regionals before being eliminated by Tennessee.

FREE CLINIC

Ramsey will be hosting a free clinic for girls ages 12-older this Sunday at the Guam High Softball Field from 1-5 pm. Just bring your glove, cleats and a hat.

Local men’s masters softball players Keith Hattig, Benjie Pangelinan, Glen Nelson and Luis Camacho will be assisting in the clinic.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
