After their first successful jamboree just last month, Guam Volleyball Federation hit another wave of success on Sunday in their second stint as well over 300 youth flooded the UOG Calvo Field House for volleyball training and excersizes.
Participating clubs in the event were AA Guahan Volleyball Club, HATSA, Metgot, Haggan, Onra, Pokai, Isa/Nu-Hyzt, Prodigy, Lokahi Volleyball, Professional Volleyball Club.
The training presented National level training from GVF head coach Mike Rabago as all three courts were utalized for different styles of tranings. From drills to scrimmaging, kids were exposed to high levels of volleyball training.
The kids from ages 8-11 took on the first of three sessions with the 12-13 year olds getting the lunch shift. The high school attendees had the later part of the day to round out the participants.
The March Jamboree concludes the two major parts of Rabago’s journey to begin a volleyball league. Rabago will now present the data to the ICECP in Switzerland in April where he exceeded all expectations.
With a large showing in the jamboree and an even bigger involvement in the clubs, Rabago’s plan to launch a league in July-August is all falling into place!
