The winner for 2017 Miss Earth Guam is none other than Guam High Panther running star Emma Sheedy! The record-breaking high school senior to be wrapped up another stellar year in sports and took home the title of Miss Earth Guam Wednesday evening.

Sheedy has been one of the most dominant runners since her freshman year and she and teammate Alyssa Tatum had recently broke records in the 1500 and 3000 during the 2017 season.

The track star also joined the GSPN team as a reporter, growing from story to story while also showing flexibility behind a camera. Sheedy has always been passion driven and writing and photography are just some of the things she has a passion for.

Her quest to join the ladies in competition for Miss Guam Earth as one of the youngest members didn’t phase her as she has grown accustom to big moments after reeling in numerous gold medals, including 1st 2nd place IIAAG track titles over the past two years.

Emma also played softball for the Panthers and was one of the leagues top runners in cross country. Her writing talents also extended from PDN’s The Vibe.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
