GUAM MASTERS FALL IN OVERTIME TO PHILIPPINES IN GAME 1

The 2017 Masters Invitational Basketball Tournament went into its playoff rounds Wednesday with Guam’s senior ballers falling just short in Game 1 against DUB Philippines Unlimited 82-73.

Leopoldo Santiago led DUB with an astounding 36 points, 7 rebounds and 8 boards.

Guam’s Oscar Espinosa scored a game-high 19 points and Anthony Thompson added 18. Sandy Fejeran was close to a double-double with 10 points and 9 assists in the loss.

Guam suffered just their second loss all tourney.

Guam’s other team in the 51 and up Division, the Fil Friars, picked up a close 36-34 victory on opening night Monday.
