What a difference a day makes.

It’s the most anxious day for NFL players – cut day when the rosters go from 90 players to 53.

Guam boy Zach Banner is in the clear after making the final roster of the 2017 Indianapolis Colts.

“I’m not gonna lie, it’s a relief,” Banner told GSPN. “This being my rookie season, I’ve learned that every year, there’s going to be even Pro Bowlers who get cut, for whatever reason.”

Getting drafted in the 4th Round out of USC, Banner has been working throughout the summer and training camp to earn that roster spot. Currently, he’s pegged as the backup right tackle on the Colts offensive line.

“I’m happy I made the roster, but I have to continue to put in the work and get better every day,” Banner added. “My goal is to lock in this spot every single year.”

The focus now for #72 is the first pro game of his career on Sept 10 (Sept 11, Guam time) back in Los Angeles where he went to college. The Colts take on the Rams at the Memorial Coliseum.

“L.A. is a part of me since I spent over four years there. It’s going to be awesome to play in front of Trojan fans and fans of me.”

UPDATE: About 24 hours later, Zach was waived by the Colts but still be placed on the practice squad.
