LADY TOKKA STAYS HOT IN FASTPITCH PLAYOFFS

Lady Tokka has gotten hot at the right time. After winning their first game of the season in their last regular season game #6 seed Lady Tokka shook up the playoff bracket by first knocking off the #3 seed CrossFit HITA and then shutting down #2 seed Bottomed Out (3-3) to propel them into the winners bracket semifinal game of the Girls FastPitch Fall Ball Playoff Tournament.

Lady Tokka has gotten hot at the right time. After winning their first game of the season in their last regular season game #6 seed Lady Tokka shook up the playoff bracket by first knocking off the #3 seed CrossFit HITA and then shutting down #2 seed Bottomed Out (3-3) to propel them into the winners bracket semifinal game of the Girls FastPitch Fall Ball Playoff Tournament.

Lady Tokka held off CrossFit HITA 10-5 in Sunday’s opener at Okkodo High School with Alex Cruz Taimanglo earning StrikeZone Player of the Game pitching a complete game allowing just two earned runs and delivering on offense going 3 for 3 with three runs and two RBI.

CrossFit HITA couldn’t get their offense started scoring four runs in the third inning as Lady Tokka committed four errors. Juliana Nelson was 3 for 3 with a run and three RBI in the loss. CrossFita drops to the loser’s bracket in the double elimination tournament.

Lady Tokka would battle it out with #2 seed Bottomed Out in the Sunday nightcap scoring four runs in the top of the 7th inning for a 7-3 upset win and a spot in the winners bracket semifinals. Alex Cruz Taimanglo again went seven complete innings to get the win and was helped by solid defense by 3rd baseman Neilani Pereda and shortstop Judy Taimanglo. Sasha Dirige was 1-3 with a run and RBI to pick up Strike Zone POG.

Tomisha Roberto was 2 for 3 with a run and RBI in the loss for Bottomed Out who fall to the losers bracket.

Dodgers beat T”Bzns via mery rule

In other action #4 Lady Dodgers won their opener 11-3 with a mercy rule win over #5 T”Bzns Mu Nai in the Saturday opener. Sherika Cabrera was 2 for 3 with two runs and Alexis Aguerro was 2 for 2 with a bases clearing triple to share StrikeZone Player of the Game.

Jeri Taimanglo was 3 for 3 in the loss for T” Bzns Mu Nai who drop to the loser’s bracket to take on Bottomed Out.

In the Saturday nightcap #1 seed Juice would advance to the winner’s bracket semifinal with a 12-4 win over Lady Dodgers. Juice would use a seven run 5th inning to break open a close 5-4 game and send the Lady Dodgers to the loser’s bracket. Jessilyn Balajadia picks up Strike Zone Player of the Game going 3 for 4 with a run and three RBI.

#1 Juice takes on #6 Lady Tokka in the winner’s bracket semifinal game. The Lady Dodgers fall to the loser’s bracket to take on #3 CrossFit HITA.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
