PRESS RELEASE – In celebration of fifty years of economic growth in Guam, GEDA’s Employee Morale Association (GEMA) will be hosting the GEDA Anniversary Golf Tournament 2015 at the Starts Guam Golf Resort in Dededo on Saturday, June 13. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit various local charities, including the “Adopt a School Program,” which assists our local schools with supplies, paint, textbooks, and much more.

The tournament will be the first of several events planned by GEMA to celebrate GEDA’s 50th Year of Economic Development. In August of 1965, Governor Manuel F.L Guerrero signed Public Law 8-80, which was authored by Senator Frank D. Perez. This Law officially established the Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) as a public corporation with the responsibility to grow and develop the economy of Guam. Since then, GEDA has helped bring numerous new investors, industries and opportunities to Guam for the benefit of the people of Guam.

GEMA’s Anniversary Golf Tournament will be a two-person select shot event with showtime at 11am and tee time at 12pm. This event will include hole-in-one & raffle prizes, beverages, on-course lunch, and dinner banquet. There will also be some awesome giveaways at several holes, including featured items from GEDA’s Guam Product Seal program members.

For more information on registration, please contact Ms.Tara Rivera at [email protected]. For more information on the overall event, please contact Mr.Matthew Sgro at [email protected]

Note: GEMA is a non-profit organization established to participate in numerous community activities and assist local charitable causes.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
