Former NBA champion Sam Vincent will be making a trip to Guam April 12-16 to conduct a youth basketball clinic as he was invited by the St. Anthony Catholic School. Vincent’s visit is part of services from Legends of Basketball Association.

“Mr. Vincent will be working with the youths to help them develop their basketball skills and improve their game. He is a great role model for the kids and will offer invaluable lessons and life skills that will give the children a great experience and encourage them to pursue their dreams,” stated St. Anthony Advisory Board Secretary Leah Metra.

Vincent has played on several NBA teams such as the 1986 Champion Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Seattle Super Sonics, and Orlando Magic. He was teammates of legends in Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen, and Bill Walton. Vincent and Jordan are close friends and Vincent was even the head coach for the Charlotte Bobcats from May 2007 to April 2008.

Vincent’s visit can play a key role in putting Guam on the basketball map for talent scouts. Vincent has expressed a lot of interest in making a second trip to Guam with hopes of bringing big names to the Island.
