The much anticipated UFC debut of Guam’s Jon “The Heat” Delos Reyes (JDR) ended just minutes into the first round as the Guam native got trapped in an arm bar submission by the dangerous jiu-jitsu of Dustin Kimura.
JDR came out with heavy hands which gave him the edge in the beginning of the fight as he connected with a sneaky left hook that dropped Kimura. JDR quickly tried to pounce on the stunned Kimura, but it ultimately appeared to be exactly where Kimura wanted the fight to go, to the ground.
JDR was aiming to land shots while standing, but the anxious Guam star chased Kimura to the ground where Kimura began to work his game.
“Kimura is displaying a great jiu-jitsu game, look at the way he is transitioning!” said UFC announcer Brian Stann.

Kimura grabbed hold of JDR and transitioned to at least three different positions before grabbing hold of JDR’s arm where he cranked out the arm bar forcing JDR to tap, which Kimura later said he had to work so hard to find because of the strength of JDR.
Both fighters had fought in the PXC, as did majority of the fighters on the UFC 34 Fight Night card. As reportered earlier in the week on Facebook: Guam’s connections to UFC Fight Night 34
