The Saints dominated Saturday in the GNYFF, but Sunday belonged to the Angels and Giants with both teams picking up Manha and Matua divisions to advance to the semifinals next weekend.

The Angels swept Sunday with a Metgot division win in the afternoon at the Eagles field while the Raiders made another weekend appearance, grabbing a big 32-0 over the Jets in the Metgot division.

Manglona The Man For Giants

Giants Mason Manglona was unstoppable Sunday after gashing the Southern Cowboys for two touchdowns in their 20-6 win at the UOG field Sunday.

Manglona scored the first touchdown of the game in the second quarter to give the Giants a 7-0 lead heading into the break.

The Cowboys forced the Giants into an early punt in the third quarter where they brought down the punter before he could get a leg on, allowing the Cowboys to take over from the 25 yard line.

A couple of big runs by Bob Manglona brought the Cowboys to the goal line where a run up the middle from quarterback Travis Concepcion made the score 7-6 with Southern failing to convert on the PAT.

Not too long after, Manglona was at it again by taking a handoff through the gut of the Cowboys defense for an 82-yard score to go up 14-0. The Giants defense held strong through the rest of the game to prevent the Cowboys from sparking a comeback.

Running back Jalana Garcia officially put the game out of reach with under four minutes in the game to go up 20-6.

Angels Fly Past Eagles

Not to be outdone by their younger teams throughout the day, the Matua division Angels put forth a furious first half where they went up 35-0 before halftime. The Angels scored 27 of those points in the first quarter to sink the Eagles in the early going.

Tyler Pangelinan was on the receiving end of a medium yard throw where he took the catch 40 yards untouched to give the Angels the 27-0 lead.

Angels Lawrence Castro then broke free from the Eagle defense late in the second quarter to break a run for over 40 yards to go up 35-0.

The Eagles would prevent the shutout with two second half touchdowns, but the score was way out of reach to advance the Angels to the second half.
