REDHAWKS HANDLE HAGGAN

PRESS RELEASE – Jim Beam Amateur Baseball action Tuesday night at Leo Palace Resort featured the Yona Redhawks and Haggan.   The Redhawks would break away late in the game with a five run 5th inning and Redhawks starter Kyle Martinez would go six strong innings to give the Redhawks a 10-5 winlatte-baseball

The Redhawks offense would break open a 2-2 game in the top of the third inning with rbi hits from Trebor Aguerro and McCarthy leading the way to take a 5-2 lead.

Haggan would push a run across in the bottom of the 4th inning on an rbi triple from PJ Quintanilla closing the gap to 5-3.

In the top of the 5th The Redhawks would capitalize on errors and doubles from Mark Parks and Juan Lizama scoring 5 times to break open the game and push their lead to 10-3.

Haggan would manage a run in the 5th and 6th inning but couldn’t take advantage of opportunites to get back in the game with 10 runners left on base in the game.

Redhawks starter Kyle Martinez would go six innings allowing three earned runs on six hits to pick up the win as the Redhawks improve to 6-2 on the season.  Trebor Aguerro gets the Strike Zone Player of the Game with a 3 for 5 day at the plate.  Larry Bombon and PJ Quintanilla each had two hits in the loss for Haggan who fall to 2-7 on the season.

Ashley Samaniego and the UCLA Bruins made it to the NCAA Women’s Final Four, before losing to eventual champions UConn.
The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
