PRESS RELEASE – The 2013 Bud Light Guam Women’s Tackle Football League (GWTFL)  invites the community to “Honk to Empower Guam’s Women” and “Beep to support the League” tomorrow, Friday, March 22, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. at the ITC intersection in Tamuning, where they will be waving at passersby.

All eight teams in the league- Guam Lady Raiders, Iron Maidens, Island Stunnerz, Lady Spartans, Ruff Ryders, Sindålu, Steel Blazers and Team Legacy- plus Commissioner Jacob Dowdell and members of the Board will be present waving to promote empowerment of women on our island and raising awareness of the all-female football league.

“These women have taken the time and dedication to be a part of something greater than themselves; doing this wave will help them to reach other women and girls of the community and hopefully inspire them to do the same, “said Commissioner Jacob Dowdell.

“This is a great opportunity for our island to recognize these beautiful, strong and inspirational women,” said Jessie Rosario, vice president of the GWTFL Board.

“Get Ready Guam, The Game is About to Change,” he continued.

Games commence this Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., Eagles Field, Mangilao. Games will be played every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and again at 2:30 p.m. with the championship game scheduled for June 01, 2013.
