DOLPHINS, GECKOS INTO FINALS

The top two IIAAG Girls Softball League teams took care of business Wednesday night in their respective semifinals and will go at it for the third time for all the marbles Saturday afternoon.

The Southern Dolphins crushed the Guam High Panthers 12-0 and the GW Geckos doubled up on the Academy Cougars 6-3 to set up the showdown this Saturday. In the regular season, The Dolphins beat the Geckos 8-7 in the first round before GW handed Southern its only loss of the season 4-3.

The championship game will be round three of the rivalry with much more at stake.

Down south, the Dolphins wasted no time, scoring four runs in the opening inning against the Panthers behind a bases loaded two-run double from Briel Meno.

Southern added five more runs in the third inning and another three runs in the fourth frame to finish off the onslaught.
