As the sun set on this fine Sunday, the 41st Chamorro Open closed yet another worth-watching tennis tournament. From Friday to Sunday, athletes of different ages came out to play against each other to reach the finals in intense rallies and hard-fought games.

But it wasn’t all as it was planned to be with only a few tennis players signing up to play in the tournament this year.

“We didn’t get the number of participates we wanted,” said organizer Ray Miranda. “But we are happy to see people come out and play. I hope we can get more people to come out next year.”

Aside from less participates than previous years, it was still a great tournament to watch.

St. John’s sophomore Margaux San Nicolas, winning both Womens 2.0 and 3.0 finals, said, “It was a great experience. I hope to play in more upcoming tournaments and future Chamorro Opens.”
