The Braves added another victory to the win column after having their last game postponed topping the 76 Cardinals 9-2 Tuesday evening at the Paseo Stadium. The game was called after seven innings of play due to heavy rain causing unplayable field conditions.
After two scoreless innings, the Braves exploded in the bottom of the third inning. Third baseman Chad Palomo sparked the run for the defending champs whacking a pitch to center field that sent home Pete Guerrero and Alan Sarmiento on a two-run scoring double. Palomo would add a run of his own a couple batters later off a RBI single by catcher John Salas. Moments later, Carl Quintanilla hit a whooping two RBI triple to deep center field that drove home Salas and Ted Concepcion to end the with the Braves up 6-0.
The Braves followed up in the bottom of the seventh inning adding three insurance runs. First baseman Rico Castro scored a run off a RBI single by Jimmy Reyes. Then, an overthrow to first allowed John Sarmiento to reach home safely. Reyes would score the final run of the inning off a field error.

The Cardinals managed to get on board in the top of the sixth inning. A RBI single to left field by C.J. San Miguel drove home Jess San Nicolas for their first run of the game. On the next at bat, a sacrifice fly drove home Jarred Alerta. The Cardinals were unable to mount any offense after the inning.
Palomo and Quintanilla of the Braves each finished with two RBI’s.
With the win, the Braves remain perfect at 8-0 while the Cardinals drop to 5-3.
