The Agana Heights King Car Chiefs took game two from the Chalan Pago Amigos who had been ahead in the series 1-0 before Monday’s game. The Chiefs, who nearly held the Amigos run-less, came through with the 6-2 win Monday night at the Okkodo field, tying the series at one a piece.
With the score at 4-2 and the Amigos just two runs away from tying the game, the Chiefs turned around and secured their win in the bottom of the sixth. Frankie Johnson loaded the bases after hitting a single into right field. Keith Castro then followed up with a two RBI single and advanced to second on an error. Castro smacked the ball right down centerfield and brought in Derek Cruz and Ray Terlaje.
Gerry Paulino put the Chiefs on the board first in the bottom of the second, hitting an RBI double and bringing in Troy Simbahan. Derrick Cruz then hit a sac fly allowing Paul Untalan to touch home plate, making the score 2-0. Paulino would then come full circle after an error allowed him to run home.

The Chiefs found a way to stop the Amigos’ running game, picking off runners at first. However, at the top of the sixth, the Amigos capitalized on two consecutive errors on the Chiefs to score their only two runs of the night.
Winning pitcher Shane McDonald pitched all seven innings and recorded eight strikeouts.
“Well I knew that coming off a loss, we had to win it all from here. This game’s very important, so I just try to make some pitches, get some good outs, and just rely on my defense.”
“We were rushing things, we just needed to play our own game, and go for everything,” said McDonald about the Chiefs’ game one loss.
The Chiefs and Amigos will now square off in game three on Wednesday at the Okkodo field.
“All the boys want it, so hopefully we come out with the win.”
