The SSFM Hal’s Angels and the Northern Yigo Jets of the Metgot division both entered their match with a 2-0 record. However, it was the Angels who improved to 3-0 after they outscored the Jets 27-6 after four quarters of play.

Angels’ half back Ethan Gustilo opened up the second half with a kick-off return that had fans jumping out of their seats. Gustilo ran behind the safety of his blockers, but also evaded and broke tackles himself, tearing up the field cutting left and right. The rest of the game was just like that: the Angels making things happen on the field while their fans displayed their support and excitement for them.

Already up at the half, the Angels continued to pull away from the Jets. Jacob Herring, with the clock reading 8:05, dove up the middle and into the end zone for a five-yard touchdown extending the Angels’ lead to 19-0.

Later in the third quarter, the Jets fumbled at the 30 which gave the Angels good field positioning. Herring followed with dives and runs, inching his Angels closer to the goal line. With three minutes, 50 seconds left in the half and for his second score, Herring hit the hole for a two-yard touchdown.

The Jets’ only touchdown came late in the game from their go-to player, Joey Simmy. With just 14 seconds left on the clock, Simmy ran into the endzone, putting his team on the board and evading the shutout by the Angels.

The Angels were the first to put points on the board about eight minutes into the first quarter. Daevin Campos shot up the middle and cut to the outside for a 17-yard touchdown putting his angels up 6-0.

Kobe Cox then extended their lead 12-0 after he dove to the left and cut back against the grain for a 19-yard touchdown with only 20 seconds left in the first quarter. Jacob Herring completed the one-point conversion closing out the half 13-0.
