PRESS RELEASE- Winning Pitcher- Paul Campos   Save- none     Losing Pitcher- Glenn Palomo

Defending Spring League Champions Chalan Pago Amigos stayed perfect in the Fall League with a 6-2 win over the MTM Falcons Tuesday night in the Leo Palace Baseball League Amateur Division.

The Amigos took an early 3-1 lead scoring one run in the 1st inning and two runs in the 2nd inning with rbi singles from Broad Santos and Keith Castro pacing the offense. The Falcons would also score in the 1st inning off an rbi single from EJ Lizama.

The Falcons would chip away scoring another run in the third inning taking advantage of errors to push a run across and cut the Amigos lead to 3-2.

The Amigos would add insurance runs in the 5th inning with a double from Rayzor Quintanilla and another rbi single from Keith Castro. Broad Santos would add a rbi double in the 6th inning to give the Amigos a 6-2 lead.

That was all the runs Amigos starter Paul Campos would need as he settled down and to go the distance holding on for the win striking out eight in seven innings and allowing only four hits as the Amigos held on for the 6-2 win.

Amigos Brian Quintanilla was 3 for 3 with great defense at first base and Brod Santos and Keith Castro provided two hits for the Amigos who improve to 4-0 to hold onto first place.

Falcon’s EJ Lizama chipped in two of the four Falcons hits in the loss. Starter Glenn Palomo kept his team in the game with striking out seven in 5 innings but picks up the loss as the Falcons fall to 1-2 on the season.

The 2007 Simon Sanchez graduate is in his first year with the Bruins women’s basketball team as the Director of Athletic Performance. This after years at California State University, Northridge in the same capacity.
Coach Ash must be bringing some goodness to the Bruins as UCLA is currently ranked #1 in the country and earned its first No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
